Can my child be picked up and dropped off at School during term time?
We start early and finish late at WanaExperience it in order that you can do the things you need to do before you pick your child up. We will have walking groups to pick up and drop off your child/ren at school and will transport them safely should the weather be unfavourable.
At WanaExcel we are here for you and will do our utmost to accommodate the needs of your family. Please feel free to ask if we can be of any assistance and we will do our best to make it happen within our licensed child numbers and hours of operation.
Healthy bodies create healthy minds! At WanaExcel your child will enjoy food that is sourced from fresh, local products whenever practical and possible. We will source natural wholesome fresh fruit and vegetables, eggs, meat and poultry to serve to your children daily across Morning Tea, Lunch and Afternoon Tea. Children doing longer hours will also be served a late snack. The children will be actively involved in the preparation of their meals in our Kids Kitchen to further extend their life skills.
Yes, with the exception of Excursion days and each Wednesday which is ‘Lunchbox day’ where children will eat from a selection of healthy lunchbox ideas from home (please ensure your child has an adequate amount and variety of food for all three meal options)
A late afternoon snack will still be provided for those children still at the Centre at 3.30pm. You will be advised in advance if the children need to bring along a packed lunch on days we will be out of the Centre at mealtimes.
At WanaExcel we pride ourselves on maintaining a high level of hygiene to prevent the spread of infection with good hand washing practises and cleaning routines.
If a child becomes unwell during the day, we will care for them away from the other children and contact a caregiver to pick them up as soon as possible to avoid them having any more contact with other children to help prevent the spread of sickness. If your child has been vomiting or had a diarrhoea bug, we ask that you keep them away for at least 12 hours from their last incident. All the staff at WanaExcel are competent and trained in First Aid to deal with minor injuries. An Accident Register is kept of all treatments and injuries that occur and these are monitored so our Health and Safety Policy and Practices can be adjusted accordingly.
An important feature of WanaExcel’s success is the partnership we build with children, and their parents, whanau/family and caregivers. We love to share in your child’s journey both at home and at the Centre so will take every opportunity to talk to you about your child. If you have specific things you would like to discuss in a more formal way, please let us know and we’ll make a time that suits.
Many of your questions will be answered in our Information Folder if not, please contact us.
